We came from the world of the records we digitize.
Why Boxes to Bytes exists
BTB's founder spent years in aviation, where the value of an aircraft can hinge on whether its records are complete and findable. The records were always there, in binders, in boxes, in someone's office. But getting an answer out of them was slow, manual, and painful.
The digitization vendors that existed didn't fix it. They scanned the paper and locked it in a closed cloud with a clunky search and no way to do anything more with it. You couldn't bring your own AI. You couldn't get the data out. You were renting access to your own history.
So BTB was built to do it right: capture the records properly, and build a custom AI on top of them that turns boxes of paper into answers. It's an AI that's yours, grounded in your data, owned by you and not the vendor.
Brian Galvan
Founder, Boxes to Bytes
Aviation background, in-house builder. Designs and runs the entire capture-to-AI pipeline personally, so your records become an asset you own.
One person builds your AI, end to end.
This isn't a reseller stitching together other people's tools and dropping a generic chatbot on your files. The full pipeline is built in-house, end to end, by the same person. That's why we can train the AI on your specific records, keep your data open, deploy on your own hardware, and connect to whatever model you trust.
The principles behind the build.
Your data should be yours.
Open, portable, and never held hostage.
Scanning is the start, not the finish.
The real product is a custom AI built on your records.
Generic AI isn't enough.
Your AI should know your documents, not just chat in general.
Originals are sacred.
They stay in your hands and get handled with care.
Bring your own AI.
You shouldn't be locked into one vendor's model.
